Most businesses do not arrange finance often enough to get good at it. A replacement van, a kitchen fit out or a new machine comes round every few years, and in between the detail fades. That gap is where most of the frustration sits, and it is the main reason a named account manager makes the whole process feel easier.
At Complete Leasing Solutions every enquiry is handled by one person from the first conversation through to completion, and that same person stays with the account afterwards. It sounds like a small operational detail. In practice it changes how quickly things move and how much of the work lands back on you.
One person who already knows the file
The alternative is familiar to anyone who has dealt with a large call centre. You explain the business, the asset and the timescale, then the next person asks the same questions and you start again. Every repetition is time out of your day, and every handover is another chance for a detail to be lost.
A dedicated account manager holds the context. They know the trading history you have already supplied, the supplier you are buying from, the figure you are working to and the reason the equipment is needed by a particular date. When something changes, and it usually does, you pick up where you left off instead of starting the explanation over.
Knowing which lender to approach first
We work with a wide panel of UK lenders rather than a single funder, and they do not all look at the same deal in the same way. Some are comfortable with younger businesses, some prefer particular asset types, some are stronger on larger sums, and some will happily consider a sector that another would pass on.
Knowing where a proposal is most likely to be welcomed is experience rather than process. An account manager who has placed hundreds of similar deals will usually know within a short conversation which route to take, which keeps the number of applications down and protects your credit profile. That is the practical difference between a broker who knows your business and an application sent to whoever happens to be next on the list.
Fewer applications, faster answers
Speed matters when a supplier is holding stock or a vehicle is off the road. Most decisions come back within 24 hours, and that is only possible when the proposal is put together properly the first time, with the right lender and the right supporting information attached.
This is the quiet value of a named contact. Most of the work that makes an application straightforward happens before it is submitted, and it depends on somebody understanding the business rather than working through a checklist.
Someone to call when circumstances change
An agreement is not the end of the relationship. Businesses add equipment part way through a term, upgrade earlier than planned, ask for a settlement figure, need a copy of paperwork for their accountant, or want to understand their options as the term comes to an end.
Having a direct number and a name means those questions take minutes rather than days. Our End of Lease Manager and Customer Retentions team look after agreements as they mature, so the conversation about what happens next starts in good time rather than at the last moment. The same applies to asset refinance if you want to release value from equipment you already own.
What it costs to have one
Nothing extra. A broker is normally paid a commission by the lender that writes the deal, and that is disclosed to you. You are not paying a separate fee on top of the finance for having a dedicated contact, which is worth knowing before you decide to deal with a lender directly.
Continuity over the long term
Plenty of our customers have come back four or five times over a decade or more. By the third agreement the groundwork is largely done. We know the business, the way it trades and the sort of structure that suits it, so arranging the next asset is a short conversation rather than a fresh exercise. Whether that ends up as hire purchase or a finance lease depends on how you want to treat the asset at the end of the term.
We have been arranging business finance since 2004 and have completed more than 30,000 transactions from our office in Cramlington, and a good share of those are repeat customers. You can read more about us or look through our case studies to see the range of businesses we work with.
What you can expect from your account manager
Where to start
If you have a purchase in mind, the quickest way to get a feel for the numbers is our calculator, which gives an indicative monthly figure in a few seconds. A short call after that will confirm what is realistic for your business and which lender is the best fit.
You can also meet the team before you pick up the phone, so you already know who you will be speaking to, or simply get in touch and we will point you to the right person.
